A Rotary bank holiday weekend full of volunteering and celebration to mark King Charles III’s coronation

Find out how Rotary clubs across the Isles celebrated the coronation while encouraging new volunteers to improve their local community.

As Great Britain gathered round their screens and in the streets to celebrate King Charles III’s coronation, Rotary clubs around the country made sure to put on events that every community could enjoy.

Across the bank holiday weekend,Β  Rotary clubs across the isles were seen having a pivotal role in local coronation celebrations, whether it was an afternoon tea or a village fete.

Of course, Rotary would not let a historic occasion go amiss without a display of volunteering brilliance and communities across the country got to do just that as part of The Big Help Out.

Along with a host of other non-profit organisations, Rotary used Monday 8th May to get behind The Big Help Out – an initiative backed by The Royal Household encouraging everyone to use the coronation as a time to try their hand at volunteering.

According to The Big Help Out Team, over 6 million people took part across the UK with Rotary playing a large part.
