For the second year running, Swanage & Purbeck Rotary, South England is hosting a festive boutique for the Christmas season.
In 2020, as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, the traditional Christmas Market could not go ahead.
However, Rotarian Sue Whitton latched on to the idea of operating a Pop-Up Shop in an empty unit in the town center. With thanks to the owner of the premises, who didn’t charge the club rent for the month.
The event was an enormous success, generating more than £4,000 for local good causes.
Once again, this year the club can open the shop Christmas shop, and again thanks to the generosity of the owner of the premises they are not paying any rent this year either.
The shop has opened on December 1st selling a wide range of Christmas goods, festive food, and clothing and are indebted to the wonderful volunteers from both within and outside the club for giving up so much of their time to get the shop ready for business
This is just one of the events run by Swanage & Purbeck Rotary during the festive season, which also includes Santa’s Sleigh tour of the town and surrounding villages, Charity Mail for delivery of Christmas Cards to local addresses.
