The Newcastle Action Summit is the flagship national event for Rotary GB&I in 2024, and is open to every Rotarian.
Taking place over the weekend of November 8th to 10th at the Crowne Plaza Stephenson Quarter Hotel, right in the centre of Newcastle, our theme will be ‘North Star – One Year In’.

Geordie Night - £32.00 per person
The Action Summit kicks off with an aptly-themed Geordie Night! What better way to be welcomed to Newcastle than in traditional style.
Enjoy pre-dinner music by Robson’s Choice: Northumbrian Pipers and Instrumentalists. Followed by an authentic, locally selected 3-course dinner with a Geordie-themed menu and after-dinner entertainment provided by a world-class folk singer and fiddle player.

Rotary Foundation Dinner - £37.50 per person
Friday 8th November. 3 course dinner and inspirational Foundation speakers.

‘Speak-easy’ Gala Dinner - £40 per person
Saturday 9th November. You are set to have a fantastic evening at this special "Speak-easy" themed night. Ticket includes an arrival drink, sumptuous three-course dinner, pre-dinner entertainment, after-dinner live music and dancing. Dress code: 1920’s/1930’s or smart.

World Health Organization (WHO)
Sona heads external relations for polio eradication at the WHO, where she has worked for 22 years. She manages fundraising and communications responsibilities for the programme, working with the Global Polio Eradication Initiative partners to manage information and secure funding.
Professor Fiona Macaulay
Director, Rotary Bradford Peace Centre
A member of University of Bradford’s Peace Studies department since 2005, Professor Macaulay is Director of the Rotary Peace Centre at the University, one of 7 Rotary Peace Centres worldwide which have trained more than 1,700 peace fellows from around the globe.
Miriam Otengo
Senior Counsellor, Uganda High Commission, London
A distinguished Ugandan diplomat, Miriam is former Senior Private Secretary to the President of Uganda and child protection volunteer with UNHCR. Her father was killed before she was born, and as a teenager in Northern Uganda she was abducted by LRA rebels. Miriam is also a member of Rotary Club of London Innovation.
