Rotary Young Artist is a national youth competition that encourages young people across Great Britain and Ireland to develop their artistic skills and express their creativity.
Young Artist is just one of the many youth competitions that Rotary Great Britain & Ireland holds every year in order to give young people the chance to showcase their talents with the help of their local Rotary clubs.
For this year’s edition of Young Artist, participants were challenged to create a piece of artwork based on the theme ‘Sunrise and Sunset’.
Local heats took place across the country, with more Rotary Districts than ever before entering the competition.
The judges of the national final found it hard to pick winners from the high standard of entrants but eventually found the winners for the Junior (up to and including 10 years old), Intermediate (11 to 13 years old), and Senior (14 to 17 years old) categories.
This year’s competition was sponsored by the Fine Art Trade Guild, the Art and Framing industry’s trade association, responsible for encouraging and promoting the best in art and framing. Prizes for the Rotary Young Artist competition were also supplied by Bracebridge Fine Art.
Here are this year’s extraordinary winners:
Senior Category – Amy Percival
Sponsored by Middlesbrough Erimus Rotary Club
Intermediate Category – Davida Bekoe
Sponsored by The Rotary Club of The Wrekin
Junior Category – Anushka Sharp
Sponsored by The Rotary Club of Hythe
