Rotary’s project partners ShelterBox are sending Response Team members to Indonesia following a deadly earthquake which hit the island of Lombok.
ShelterBox are working closely with Rotary members in the country to assess the situation on the ground.
The 6.9 magnitude earthquake hit the island on Sunday 5th August, killing nearly 100 people and leaving at least 20,000 people have been left homeless and are in need of shelter.
This quake happened just a week after a 6.4 magnitude quake hit the region, killing 14 people and further aftershocks are possible.
To track the situation as it evolves please follow ShelterBox on Twitter and Facebook, and for further information, please visit the dedicated Lombok Earthquake section on their website.
The Operations Update below was posted on Tuesday 7th August.
As well as ongoing responses in Syria, across the Lake Chad Basin and Somaliland, ShelterBox also has a team in Kenya, following recent flooding, and is liaising with local organisations, including Rotary.
